Three months ago, I left my full-time job at Uber to solve a problem for myself - consistently being able to find a spot to get work done. Today, I’m proud to announce our first product: cofibase [beta] - a nationwide database of work-friendly cafes and coffeeshops.
I interviewed 20+ grad students (MD, JD, MBA), consultants, investors, entrepreneurs, software engineers, and product managers to better understand what people want when working away from home. People’s core needs are simple: WiFi, power outlets, and a solid workspace. Some folks mentioned other essentials: aesthetic spaces, just the right amount of ambient noise, quality food/drinks, and accessible parking. cofipass unites people in search of such workspaces with the 15K+ independent cafes and coffeeshops across the United States.
While our long-term goal is to build a reservation system to allows users to lock in work sessions ahead of time, we want to help people discover work-friendly cafes.
1. cofibase: Discover work-friendly cafes and access critical information for cafes
2. Check-in when you start your work session at a cafe
3. Review what it was like after working at the cafe
4. New city and cafe submissions
5. Spread the word
Wondering what cofibeans are? We’re working on that one. Just know that we’re keeping track of your cofibeans - check out the cofiboard to see how you stack up against other cofipass members.
If you’d like to gain access to cofibase [beta] or share your feedback about the product, don’t hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected] or set up time on my calendar here. Thanks for your support!
